How to Sketch, Draw and Modeling Connecting Rod in Solidworks 1

  1. Open solidworks program.  Click part mode.
  2. Insert sketch in front plane. Use circle, centerline and smart dimension command. Draw two circles with diameters 22mm and 38mm. Make centerline and smart dimension like shown.
  3. Make two tangent lines like shown. You can use tangent snap on quick snap to draw it.
  4. Draw two more circles with diamenter 35mm and 70mm like shown. 
  5. On bottom circle, draw line like shown. You can use offset command from center line or mirror command. If you need, you can also use trim command
  6. Use line and centerline command to help you draw model like shown. And finishing use trim command.
  7. Use fillet command to make radius on edge. Radius 60mm.
  8. On up side draw model like shown. Use trim command and fillet to. Radius 50mm.
  9. Now, extrude sketch 11mm. On extrude boss properties click mid plane on direction tab.
  10. Insert sketch on front body. Draw line like shown, parallel with the edge. You can use offset command. Click the edge line and click offset 6mm.
